Job Title: Mover

Cadogan Tate is seeking a skilled Mover to join our team. As a Mover, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient removal, collection, delivery, and installation of personal effects, art, and antiques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and execute daily collections and deliveries, both locally and interstate as required.
  • Wrap and move furniture and art in the warehouse and on-site, ensuring the highest level of care and attention to detail.
  • Handle and manage all paperwork, including condition reporting, when on-site or working in the field.
  • Assist with paperwork and condition reporting as needed.
  • Work with the Driver to ensure the vehicle is always safe, clean, and prepared for the day or trip, verifying the goods required for each day or trip based on the daily trip sheet or trip manifest.
  • Ensure all modifications to the daily trip manifest are reported and verified by the Dispatch Manager prior to making any changes.
  • Properly handle art objects, fragile and artistic materials, antiques, and fine furniture.
  • Assist with installation projects.
  • Prepare condition checks and condition reports as needed.
  • Pack artworks, antiquities, and fine furniture for transportation and storage.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of company trucks.
  • On occasion, you may be required to start or end your day at a different location; in these instances, you are required to complete a manual time sheet and have it signed by the supervisor or manager within 24 hours of the start of the day.
  • Maintain awareness of the important elements of other employees' responsibilities with whom your own responsibilities overlap.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience in the moving industry, including packing, handling, and art, furniture, and antiquities on a local basis.
  • Two years of logistical, warehousing, and moving experience.
  • Understanding of inventory processes.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Impeccable communication and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to accurately execute detailed paperwork and condition reporting.
  • Team player, able to work with all levels of staff in a dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable in a results-driven workplace.
  • Professional demeanor at all times.
  • Experience with the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, jbars, dollies, and other necessary logistics equipment.
  • Ability to safely lift 70 pounds and maneuver objects of substantial size and weight on a daily basis without damage to object or person, including the ability to push and pull 150 pounds on a dolly cart.
  • Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach overhead.
