Inova Health System is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team in Alexandria, Virginia.

Job Summary

The MRI Technologist will provide clinical services according to MRI practice standards, ensuring optimal department functions and patient safety. This role will also serve as a resource to MRI students and other technologists.

Responsibilities
  • Administer sound patient care practices according to department/hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate magnetic safety for patients, staff, and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain equipment, exam rooms, and work areas to ensure patient and team member safety.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical history and informed consent.
  • Assist physicians in performing examinations using standard department protocols, isolation precautions, and/or sterile technique.
  • Utilize knowledge of IVs, heparin locks, and central line usage as they pertain to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiography or MRI certification from ARMRIT or CAMRT.
  • American Registered Radiologic Technologists, or ARMRIT or CAMRT. CNMT certification in lieu of ARRT is also acceptable.
  • Prior experience preferred as Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist and/or MRI Technologist in a hospital/healthcare environment or recent student at Inova Health System.
  • Basic Life Support required upon start.
