The Certified Nursing Assistant provides daily nursing care and services to residents in accordance with their assessment and care plan. This role requires administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for carrying out assigned duties and responsibilities.
Essential Job Functions:- Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, and charts.
- Report changes in resident condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
- Perform assigned tasks in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Ensure residents' rooms are ready for receiving residents.
- Inventory and mark residents' personal possessions.
- Transport residents to new rooms or receiving areas.
- Assist residents with daily care, including dental and mouth care, bathing, dressing, and hair care.
- Shave residents as needed.
- Keep residents dry.
- Maintain intake and output records.
- Assist with activity and social programs.
- Provide post-mortem care.
- Unencumbered, active CNA certification in the state of employment.
- Possess a sincere desire to work with elders and others with limited capacity for self-care.
- Mental and physical capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Work with individuals of varying personality types and maturity levels.
- Demonstrate creative initiative and mature judgment.
- Consistently maintain a courteous, empathetic, and professional attitude.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Maintain confidentiality of all activity, persons, and records.
- Communicate and comprehend orally and in writing.
- Must possess a GED and Certified Nursing Assistant Course (120 hours).
- Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with state laws.
