We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist to join our team at Forgen. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for implementing and administering our safety and health program, ensuring a safe work environment for our employees and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct site safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement control measures.
- Develop and review project Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Attend on-site safety meetings with project management teams to discuss safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and conduct on-the-job training programs to educate employees on safety procedures and best practices.
- Facilitate incident investigations and develop corrective action plans to prevent future incidents.
- Coordinate project audits and develop reports to identify areas for improvement.
- Supervise and support Safety and Health Supervisors/Technicians on their projects.
- Communicate safety information and policies to employees at all levels.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in a safety, engineering, construction, or related discipline.
- Minimum of five years of experience managing safety programs in civil, environmental, or general construction companies.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive on behalf of the company.
- Preferred safety training includes 40-Hour HAZWOPER, Competent Person Safety Training, 8-Hour Supervisory Training, OSHA 500 Certification, 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training, and EM-related courses.
The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office setting and occasionally outdoors at construction sites. The employee may be exposed to extreme weather conditions, uneven ground, and job site environments with machines, tools, heavy equipment, chemicals, solvents, dust, and fumes.
