As one of the largest integrated laboratory networks in the Midwest, we support numerous hospitals and physician offices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The selected candidate will be tasked with:
- Accessioning and preparing specimens for gross examination.
- Maintaining accurate logs and organizing specimens for transport to the histology lab.
- Performing routine and limited special stains for immediate diagnostic purposes.
- Weighing and measuring specimens, assisting with grossing, embedding, and operating the tissue processor.
- Cutting specimens and aiding in fine needle aspirates, biopsies, frozen sections, autopsies, and cytological specimen preparation and staining.
Additionally, clerical responsibilities will include completing histology-related computer tasks, compiling workload data as requested, and ensuring an adequate supply inventory as directed. It is essential to maintain a supportive environment for both employees and patients, reflecting the compassionate philosophy of our healthcare system.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should possess:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Preferred prior experience in a laboratory setting.
- Documented training relevant to the Anatomic Pathology field.
