Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Divisional EMR Specialist to join our team at CommuniCare Health Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as maintaining accurate and confidential resident medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual compliance audits of paper and electronic medical records
  • Collaborate with facility management teams, regional, and corporate teams to resolve medical records processes and issues
  • Coordinate training and competency assessments for newly onboarded Medical Records Specialists
  • Identify and coordinate ongoing teaching/training needs of facility Medical Record Specialists
  • Prepare resident medical records for release in accordance with HIPAA standards
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and professional standards for resident medical records
  • Ability to make independent decisions and work harmoniously with all staff
  • Basic computer literacy and skills
  • Flexibility to travel within the organization as needed
