Seasonal International Winery Assistant

Job Summary
At Jackson Family Wines, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Seasonal International Winery Assistant. This role will provide opportunities to learn and gain hands-on experience in the winemaking process, working closely with our experienced Cellar Master and Forepersons.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of safe cellar practices and protocols
- Participate in red fermentation management, including pump overs, rack & returns, and additions of yeast, acid, nutrients, and SO2
- Operate and maintain cellar equipment, including cleaning and sanitizing
- Assist with barrel work, including filling, racking, and topping
- Support the pressing team and assist with the movement of juice and wine
Requirements
- Previous harvest experience is preferred but not required
- Effective communication skills in English
- Ability to work long hours during the busy harvest season
- Must provide own transportation, with some assistance provided for housing
Physical Requirements
- Continuous walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling throughout the shift
- Ability to reach with hands and arms, fine manipulation, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Occasional work in enclosed spaces, heights, and wearing a respirator
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay for this role ranges from $19.00-$23.00 per hour, with compensation determined by candidate experience, skills, and location. Jackson Family Wines is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes diversity in the workplace.
