Job Title: Registered Nurse Medical Care Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at Strategic Resources, Inc. (SRI) in a Medical Care Unit setting. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to detainees in custody at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Health Services Corps (IHSC) Medical Facilities.

About the Role:

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care, including intake screening, physical exams, and treatment of acute problems. You will work collaboratively with a comprehensive primary care team, including medical providers, dental providers, and behavioral health providers, to ensure seamless care delivery. Additionally, you will perform various treatments, such as wound care and vital sign checks, as ordered by medical providers.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including intake screening, physical exams, and treatment of acute problems.
  • Work collaboratively with a comprehensive primary care team to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Perform various treatments, such as wound care and vital sign checks, as ordered by medical providers.
  • Collect laboratory specimens and perform point-of-care testing or prepare specimens for laboratory processing.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and render emergency care to stabilize patients and prevent deterioration.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an associate, baccalaureate, or graduate nursing program for Registered Nurses located in a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory accredited by The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Minimum one year of professional experience as a licensed registered nurse in a hospital, medical office, or residential setting.
  • Experience in a detention/correctional healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Maintains BLS for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Certified Correctional Health Professional, Certified Correctional Health Professional - Registered Nurse, or Certified Corrections Nurse credential is preferred.

This full-time position requires availability to work available day, evening, and night shifts, as well as weekends and holidays. The work may require specific physical characteristics and abilities, such as agility and dexterity, visual, and hearing capabilities. The Department of Homeland Security's Personnel Security Unit (PSU) must render a Preliminary Favorable Fitness Determination to be considered a qualified candidate.
