Pharmacist-PRN Weekdays

Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled Pharmacist-PRN Weekdays to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in a multidisciplinary pharmaceutical care environment.

• Evaluate physician orders based on a clinical assessment of the patient, considering factors such as allergies, age, renal function, concomitant drug therapy, lab values, approved dosing guidelines, best practice protocols, diagnosis, and physical clinical status.
• Assure the safe and accurate preparation and dispensing of medications, including sterile products and investigational drugs, through quality assurance measures, medication occurrences, competency assessments, and documentation.
• Manage drug therapy to optimize patient outcomes, measured by intervention documentation, adverse drug reaction assessments, chart reviews, target drug reviews, patient education, and the provision of drug information.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge, licensures, and certifications through continuing education.
• Manage the operations of the pharmacy in compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or related field.
• Current Pharmacy license in the state of practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
• Proficiency in computer skills and software applications relevant to the role.
