Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategically plan and oversee the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and upkeep of both hardware and software systems.
2. Collaborate with other IT staff to direct and coordinate technical support activities related to infrastructure.
3. Offer advisory services to senior management regarding network operations policies, procedures, and management challenges.
4. Identify and address daily network operational issues, working alongside team members on cable maintenance and network design challenges.
5. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must obtain the necessary security clearance.
  • Probationary period may apply.
  • Subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies:

  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrates thoroughness and conscientiousness in work.
  • Customer Service: Engages with clients to assess needs and provide assistance, ensuring quality service delivery.
  • Oral Communication: Effectively conveys information to various audiences, making clear presentations and responding to feedback.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies issues, evaluates information accuracy, and generates sound recommendations.

Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal Service, including:

  • Experience in managing and conducting daily operations of enterprise-wide telecommunications and Unified Communications services.
  • Leadership experience guiding teams in all aspects of telecommunications.
  • Experience in establishing standards, policies, and governance in telecommunications.

Additional Information:
This position is filled through Direct Hire Authority, and traditional application rating does not apply. The Department of Labor values a diverse workforce and promotes an inclusive environment.
