Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development and review of plans and specifications for construction projects, inspecting utility repair and installation, and providing engineering assistance and developing maintenance and repair schedules. Additionally, you will assist in the development and initiation of public awareness programs to enhance the performance and integrity of the City's utility systems.



Requirements: To be eligible for this role, you must possess a degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's Degree or higher in an Engineering field. Alternatively, you may have a high school diploma or equivalent supplemented by at least 20 semester credit hours in engineering-related courses or two years of full-time paid experience surveying and/or the application of basic engineering methods or techniques.



Working Conditions: This role involves working both indoors and outdoors, utilizing manual and computerized methods and techniques. The successful candidate will work under the general supervision of the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of Public Works, and the Public Works Business Manager, with direct supervision by the City Engineer.
