Job Summary:
UofL Health seeks a highly experienced Critical Care Sepsis Response Nurse to join our team. This role requires a skilled nurse with expertise in sepsis response and critical care.

About the Role:
This position involves assisting with early detection and recognition of sepsis, partnering with a multidisciplinary team to intervene timely and effectively, and delivering high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will have experience working in critical care or emergency departments, with a strong understanding of sepsis bundle guidelines and medication administration best practices.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to ensure patient safety, collaborating with the healthcare team, patient, and family. This includes considering age, gender, spiritual, cultural, physical, psychosocial, and patient preferences.
    Administer medications per licensure authority, assess their effects, and document administration according to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    Collaborate with the healthcare team to plan care using current scientific knowledge, theory, and care standards within the nursing interventions and outcomes framework and national patient safety goals.
    Identify and prioritize patient problems based on subjective and objective assessment data, patient safety considerations, patient and family goals, and preferences.
    Implement nursing care interventions to meet patient and family health care needs, evaluating care by performing regular and systematic reviews of patient responses to interventions.
    Recognize care variances and take steps to prevent or intervene with potential or real adverse events to promote safe care.
    Assess, conduct, and evaluate the outcomes of patient teaching from admission through discharge, demonstrating sensitivity to age, learning needs, and cultural background.
    Track and trend sepsis, quality, and patient safety data.
    Serve as an advocate for the patient and family, demonstrating respect for their rights and responsibilities, and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
    Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of nursing practice.

Requirements:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
• Active Kentucky Registered Nurse License or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky (required)
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years' experience in critical care or emergency department settings (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
• Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) certification upon hire or within 1 year of hire (required)
    Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 annually
    Estimated salary range is based on location and experience.
