Endoscopy Technician

SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital is seeking a skilled Endoscopy Technician to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive patient care and contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting physicians during endoscopy procedures, focusing on advanced gastrointestinal and pulmonary services
• Welcoming and preparing patients for procedures, confirming patient identification and positioning
• Preparing equipment and maintaining a clean and organized procedure room
• Assisting with specimen collection, labeling, and transportation to the lab
• Maintaining endoscopy equipment and notifying Clinical Engineering of any issues

Requirements include:

• Ability to stand for long periods and adapt to unpredictable situations
• CPR-BLS certification by appointment time
• Prior experience as a technician in the medical field, preferably in endoscopy or a related subspecialty
• Endoscopy Technician certification required by appointment time or within 2 years
