Job Responsibilities
  • Enhance your current skillset by disrupting traditional workflows and processes, building an enterprise-scale environment using AWS technologies coupled with DevOps methodologies.
  • Be an integral part of a team of knowledgeable technologists responsible for helping to build an enterprise-scale cloud presence within the IC for software development, web hosting, research, and more.
  • Work directly with AWS services and the underlying operating systems themselves to efficiently improve security automations, aid collaboration efforts with software engineers, and streamline infrastructure processes.
  • Use your existing infrastructure, IT, or systems engineering experience to apply it to solve problems with tools and concepts unique to AWS and Cloud Service Provider environments.
  • Focus on forward-leaning migration, evolution, and optimization tasking within AWS-based environments, with no long-term operations and maintenance tasking.
  • Regularly interact with various operating systems, applications, environments, and cloud computing platforms to create IT automation and orchestration activities.
  • Use open-source technologies and tools to accomplish specific use cases encountered within the project.
  • Collaborate with others on the project to brainstorm about the best way to tackle a complex technological infrastructure, security, or development problem.
  • Perform incremental testing actions on code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline execution and minimize errors encountered.
  • Work with cloud-native services to implement event-driven architectures via Infrastructure as Code.
Requirements
  • At least 12 years of experience performing software development, software engineering, or systems automation.
  • Experience with agile software development in Python, Go, or other languages.
  • Experience performing automation in Windows or Linux environments using scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell.
  • Customer-facing skills to drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management, and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • BS in Computer Science, IT, IS, or equivalent area of technical study.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AWS experience preferred, but not mandatory.
  • AWS Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Administrator Associate Certification.
  • Experience working with JSON or YAML to write Infrastructure as Code.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration services, especially Kubernetes.
  • Experience with development CI/CD tools such as Git, Jira, GitLab, or Jenkins.
  • Experience performing software development in Windows or Linux operating system environments.
