Position Overview:


As a Cable Installation Technician, your primary responsibility will be to manage the installation of our cable television and broadband services.

You will operate a company vehicle, visit customer residences, and represent Mediacom in your daily interactions.

Your role will involve a variety of tasks including service installations, modifications, additional outlet setups, service disconnections, payment collection, and addressing any special installation requests from customers.


Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with potential overtime and on-call duties as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:


Your duties will include:

  • Executing customer drop installations, ensuring completion from tap to antenna terminals in both single and multi-unit residences.
  • Performing new connections, reconnections, service disconnections, outlet additions, and equipment upgrades or downgrades.
  • Assessing picture quality and ensuring customer satisfaction with cable service installations.
  • Utilizing hand tools and power tools effectively in your work.
  • Completing necessary paperwork as directed by management.
  • Reading signal levels with field strength meters and troubleshooting installation issues.
  • Climbing poles and using ladders safely as required.
  • Lifting and transporting equipment and materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Maintaining and operating company vehicles responsibly.
  • Contributing to company revenue through effective sales techniques and product knowledge.
  • Assisting colleagues and maintaining a clean work environment.

Qualifications:


To be considered for this position, you should possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with consumer devices.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
  • The ability to work in confined spaces and at various heights.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements:
This role requires physical stamina, including frequent handling of heavy objects and tools.
