Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to join our team at UCHealth. As a Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight to our Critical Care Unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and promoting a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Nurse Manager in providing leadership and guidance to the Critical Care Unit team.
  • Develop and implement standards of care for the unit and patient population.
  • Participate in the evaluation of staff and development of staff competencies.
  • Act as a role model for staff, demonstrating effective communication skills and problem-solving techniques.
  • Collaborate with the CNS/Educator to meet the educational needs of the unit.
  • Assist with managing resources, including the equitable distribution of work and matching of assigned provider competency to patient needs.
  • Facilitate processes to improve patient throughput throughout the organization.
  • Work with the Nurse Manager to identify and resolve operational, budgetary, patient, and personnel issues.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care protocols, guidelines, and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • 3 years of experience in related clinical areas.
  • ACLS certification.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
