Job Summary:

As a CDL A Local Truck Driver at Core-Mark, you will be responsible for delivering and unloading food and food-related products to customers in a safe and timely manner. You will also mentor and train other drivers, helpers, and yard drivers, and communicate with customers, vendors, and coworkers in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a tractor trailer on local routes to deliver and unload products to customers.
  • Mentor and train other drivers, helpers, and yard drivers.
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, and coworkers in a professional manner.
  • Perform pre-trip safety checks and inspect the truck and trailer to ensure they meet company quality standards.
  • Count and verify the products loaded and check customer invoices for accuracy.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation.
  • Unload products from the trailer and transport them to designated customer storage areas.
  • Perform damage control checks and contact supervisors as needed.
  • Verify delivery of products with customers and obtain signatures.
  • Collect money and load customer returns onto the trailer.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns at the driver check-in dock and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Perform post-trip safety checks and secure the tractor and trailer.

Requirements:

  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A required.
  • 1-2 years of commercial driving experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
