Compensation: $1.25/hour freezer premium; work experience will be considered

At Request Foods, Inc., we recognize that every employee plays a vital role in our success. This position description outlines the primary responsibilities, qualifications, and scope of the role, while also emphasizing the expectation that each team member will contribute their skills whenever necessary to support the organization’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spend the majority of the workday in a freezer environment (approximately -15°F)
  • Safely operate a stand-up reach truck to ensure efficient unloading and storage of incoming materials and finished products.
  • Accurately pick and document customer orders.
  • Transfer frozen ingredients from the receiving area to designated freezer locations.
  • Utilize a computer terminal to access and verify inventory data.
  • Select orders based on correct product codes and quantities.
  • Ensure proper product rotation by selecting items from the appropriate locations.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Follow approved lifting techniques to prevent injury.
  • Conduct cycle counts as required.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols for forklift operation and other workplace practices to mitigate hazards.
  • Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and product safety regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Education/Skills:

  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Proficient math skills (including counting, addition, subtraction, and multiplication).
  • Basic computer skills (including data entry and information retrieval).

Personal Qualities/Characteristics:

  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Capability to work collaboratively and efficiently with others.
  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged standing and walking.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to various climates, particularly cold storage.
