We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oncology Unit Charge Nurse to lead our team of healthcare professionals in providing exceptional patient care. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the daily operations of our 40-bed unit, treating Surgical and Medical Oncology patients, and providing end-of-life care.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Supervise staff, facilitate communication with physicians and internal administrators, and provide optimal patient and family-centered care.
- Operational Excellence: Identify areas for improvement, evaluate the effectiveness of operational forms, and provide resources needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Compliance and Quality: Ensure adherence to stated policies and procedures, remain informed of innovative clinical trends, and role model delegation skills to colleagues.
- Patient Advocacy: Address escalated patient issues, refer issues to Unit Director or Patient Advocate when necessary, and monitor issues and their resolution.
- Education and Development: Develop management-focused in-service programs, demonstrate current evidence-based practice, and disseminate information to staff.
- Education: Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Experience: Two years of experience as an RN with a minimum of two years of experience in the area of concentration.
- Licensure: Valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
- Certifications: BLS required, ACLS may be required in designated departments.
