Job Summary

Amergis seeks a dedicated and passionate science teacher to implement daily instructional plans in an effective manner, maintaining a favorable classroom environment and establishing effective rapport with pupils while maintaining proper classroom management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet and instruct assigned classes in designated locations and times, creating and implementing instructional plans in accordance with the district curriculum.
  • Maintain a classroom climate conducive to learning, with reasonable rules that encourage self-discipline and responsibility.
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of school curriculum and goals, implementing a variety of instructional techniques and media.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures established by the Board of Education and Administration, creating and implementing response to Intervention programs as needed.
  • Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities, maintaining records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
  • Assist in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct, serving as a positive role model for students and demonstrating professionalism.
  • Hold high expectations of student achievement and behavior, attending staff meetings and IEP Meetings as requested, meeting expected standards of professional behavior.
  • Administer assessments on a timely basis, communicates effectively with parents, and provides individualized and small group instruction as prescribed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher required, teacher license/certification as applicable, and one year of experience as a school teacher, preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to accept responsibility for safety, wellbeing, or work output of other people, ability to read and implement instructional plans, and effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts, complies with all relevant professional standards of practice, and participates in Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR, TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, and current Health certificate required, as well as successful completion of new hire training and understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Proficiency in the English language and computer skills required, and must be at least 18 years of age.
