Foundry Technician

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Foundry Person to join our team at Precision Castparts Corp. As a Foundry Person, you will play a critical role in assisting air and vacuum furnace operators in the casting or master melt process.

• Preparation: Inspect and deliver metal ingots to furnace areas, clean and inspect shells, and apply exothermic insulation material to shells.
• Pouring Air Casting: Inspect and prepare pouring ladles, shank ladles to position ladles during pouring, and deliver castings to cleaning or repair departments.
• Vacuum Furnace Operations: Inspect, set up, and operate MM mold racks, run conveyor systems to transport shells to Master Caster furnaces, and knock MM ingots from molds.
• Maintenance: Provide minor maintenance and troubleshoot equipment problems, clean furnaces and burnout ovens, and install refractory lining in vacuum furnaces.
• Safety: Adhere to plant and department safety rules, safely operate equipment and tools, and identify and report safety problems.

• Previous experience as a Foundry Helper preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions, read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to lift and maneuver objects weighing thirty to fifty pounds and occasionally up to one hundred and twenty pounds.
• Ability to work as a team member and in difficult working conditions.

• Training is provided on the job.
• PCCs Fork Lift Driving Safety Certification Training must be completed.
