Job Summary:

As a Parts Counter Person at Bert Ogden Auto Group, you will be responsible for selling parts to customers, both in-store and over the phone. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong knowledge of automotive parts, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist customers in selecting the required parts, suggesting companion requirements, and offering specials.
  • Pull purchased parts from stock and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
  • Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
  • Assist outside sales reps with their orders and set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
  • Verify WILL CALL and BACKORDER files weekly and return to vendors or stock those items not required.
  • Solicit assigned accounts by phone and assist service technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs in process.
  • Notify service desk and the customer that ordered parts have been received and ensure that before parts can be charged out, the technician presents a repair order.
  • Display seasonal parts and accessories in an attractive manner and keep parts catalogs and price books current.
  • Keep all bins, aisles, and storage areas clean, neat, and clearly labeled.
  • Be friendly, professional, and efficient when working with customers and co-workers.
  • Provide the same high level of service to other dealership departments as given to other customers.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • One year of experience in an automotive parts department.
  • One year of sales experience.
  • Professional personal appearance.
  • Ability to work well with the public, sometimes with several customers at a time.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.

Working Conditions:
  • Must be 21 years old or older.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening test.
  • Must be able to pass a background screening check.
