Overview

Agricultural loan officers play a crucial role in helping farmers and rural communities access the funds they need to grow their operations. This role requires a unique blend of industry knowledge, relationship-building skills, and financial expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to identify lending opportunities
  • Proactively seek out new business prospects and build relationships with potential borrowers
  • Provide expert guidance on loan options and credit services, ensuring customers understand the terms and conditions
  • Analyze credit information and develop innovative solutions to meet customers' financial needs
  • Manage and grow existing loan portfolios, ensuring timely repayment and minimizing risk
  • Participate in industry events and community activities to build brand awareness and establish the company as a thought leader
  • Prepare comprehensive credit analyses for assigned portfolios, either directly or through the use of a credit analyst

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in agricultural lending, with a strong understanding of the industry and its challenges

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
