About the Role

Gotion, Inc. is a leading innovator in next-generation electric vehicle and energy storage technologies, with a strong presence in Silicon Valley and global R&D centers. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of our high-voltage battery packs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define Technical Requirements: Develop and maintain technical specifications for high-voltage battery packs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Design and Review: Lead the design and review of mechanical components, including module design and component selection, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Release Management: Coordinate the release of mechanical design documentation, working closely with CAD designers and external suppliers.
  • Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure components meet all technical requirements, and coordinate weekly teleconferences with internal teams.
  • System Design: Work with systems engineers to define mechanical system design for failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA).
  • Validation and Testing: Review design verification and validation plans, and work with the test and validation team to ensure mechanical design meets performance and safety standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in lithium-ion battery design, with a strong background in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Design Release Experience: Proven experience in design release in the automotive industry, with a focus on supplier selection and quality engineering.
  • Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Additional Experience: 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong understanding of DFMEA and proficiency in CATIA V6.
  • Design Release Experience: Over 3 years of experience in design release in mechanical engineering.
Compensation and Benefits

Gotion offers a competitive total compensation package, including a base salary range of $70,000-$140,000 USD, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates.
