Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Women's & Outpatient Surgical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care to assigned patients, working under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in gathering data to assess the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of patients
  • Collaborate with the registered nurse and interdisciplinary team members in planning for patient needs upon admission
  • Support direct patient care to assigned patients, utilizing clinical nursing skills and judgment
  • Provide education and reinforcement of education for patients and family, and document outcomes in the medical record
  • Initiate appropriate emergency measures when patient's condition dictates need
  • Prepare patients for tests and procedures
  • Administer and document medications according to policy and procedure
  • Delegate care to non-licensed personnel and report to the Registered nurse
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Healthcare Provider (CPR) Certification
  • Ability to stand and walk almost constantly (up to 90% of work time) and occasionally (up to 50% of work time) lifting and positioning
