Weis Markets is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Manager to join our team. As a key member of our retail operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the meat department, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving concerns in a prompt and professional manner.
- Meat Department Operations: Oversee the daily activities of the meat department, including inventory management, product rotation, and visual merchandising.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and train a team of meat department associates, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service and sales growth.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, track sales reports, and monitor product orders to ensure accurate stock levels and freshness.
- Merchandising and Sales: Coordinate sales and merchandising plans to ensure proper stock levels and freshness, and monitor competitor activity to stay ahead of the competition.
- Store Operations: Assist with scheduling, training, and recognizing performance, and delegate work assignments to effectively utilize talents and abilities while maximizing profits for the department.
- Quality Control: Monitor product quality and freshness, and ensure that all products meet company standards.
- Store Appearance: Maintain a clean and organized store appearance, including the meat department, and ensure that all areas meet company standards.
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; associate or bachelor's degree in business-related or food service-related field desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in management in a retail/restaurant/supermarket environment; meat management experience preferred.
- Skills: Excellent customer service skills, strong leadership and communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
