The Travel Nurse RN plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care across various healthcare settings. This position requires a dedicated professional with a strong foundation in nursing practices and the ability to adapt to diverse clinical environments.
Certification Requirements- BLS certification is mandatory until ACLS is acquired.
- ACLS and PALS certifications must be obtained within six months of employment and prior to completing clinical orientation; re-certification is required bi-annually.
- NRP certification is preferred.
- Must possess an active RN license in Alaska at the time of application.
- Flu vaccination is required.
- The clinical nurse is responsible for coordinating and executing a variety of nursing care procedures for patients of all ages, demonstrating professional knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions and treatments.
- Guidelines for practice include physician orders, standards of care, nursing policies, and hospital protocols.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Bachelor's, Associate's, or Diploma).
- Preferred: One year of clinical nursing experience.
- Prior experience in Critical Care Services is advantageous.
- A valid, unrestricted RN license in Alaska is required.
- BLS certification is essential, with ACLS and PALS to be obtained within six months of hire and bi-annually thereafter.
- Knowledge of Critical Care nursing principles, practices, diagnoses, and processes is necessary for providing professional nursing care.
- Ability to recognize critically ill patients and respond promptly to emergency situations.
- Familiarity with critical care and general pharmaceuticals, including their effects and potential complications.
- Skills in operating and monitoring basic and specialized emergency medical equipment are required.
- Proficiency in critical response procedures is essential.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to accurately enter and retrieve patient data.
- Ability to lead, guide, and collaborate effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members.
- Capability to implement appropriate nursing interventions based on a wide range of nursing diagnoses and evidence-based practices.
- Ability to identify adverse signs and symptoms and react promptly in emergencies, including the execution of life-saving measures.
