Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Orthopaedic Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the care of pediatric orthopedic patients in the outpatient and urgent care settings, managing acute, chronic, surgical, and congenital conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform evaluative non-surgical consults, including pre-op exams, and develop plans of care based on sound medical judgment and research-based evidence.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures, such as fracture reduction, injections, and aspirations, and apply and remove casts and other orthopedic appliances as needed.
  • Take patient histories, make assessments, and develop discharge plans in both the urgent care and outpatient settings.
  • Order, review, and evaluate laboratory reports and radiology studies.
  • Manage non-surgical orthopedic problems independently within scope of practice and surgical problems in association with the physician.
  • Make independent decisions following California laws and regulations.
  • Provide care with the highest level of customer focus service with members, physicians, and staff.
Requirements
  • Three to five years of related experience preferred.
  • Masters Degree in Nursing, required.
  • California state RN license and California Nurse Practitioner license, required.
  • National Provider Identification Number (NPI).
  • Individual Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license issued by the United States DEA for Schedule II-V controlled substances.
  • BCLS and PALS certification required.
  • National Certification from one of the following organizations: American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; American Nurses Credentialing Center; National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses (recommended).
Preferred Qualifications
  • EMR experience a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills a plus.
