Dental Assistant Position

Lernor Family Dental is seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our dental care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dentists and hygienists in delivering high-quality dental services.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist dentists and dental hygienists during various treatment procedures.
- Set up and sterilize instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms following infection control protocols.
- Take dental radiographs (x-rays) as prescribed and manage processing duties.
- Record treatment information in patient records with accuracy and detail.
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
- Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
- Take impressions of patients' teeth for study casts.
- Assist with the provision of endodontic care under the direction of the dentist.
- Manage dental supply inventory and place orders.
- Communicate with patients and suppliers.
- Provide direct patient care in all dental specialties.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Completion of an accredited dental assistant training program.
- Certification as a Dental Assistant recognized by the state or national certifications (CDA or RDA).
- Must be x-ray certified.
- Minimum of one-year practical experience as a dental assistant preferred.
- Must be proficient in Dentrix.
- Strong understanding of dental records, charting, and dentist notes.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and dental procedures.
- Ability to manage and organize multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven dedication to provide high-quality, comprehensive dental care.
- Ability to comply strictly with the Law and ethical guidelines of the dental profession.
- Basic computer skills and competence in using digital office software.
- Flexibility to handle front and back office duties.
- Capacity to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in preparing patients and operating equipment for treatments and procedures.
- Strong familiarity in understanding OSHA and sterilization standards.
