Job Overview

The Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in the delivery of high-quality patient care by performing technical procedures during cardiac catheterization. This involves working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiovascular technology and excellent communication skills. They will be responsible for operating imaging equipment, maintaining sterile conditions, and educating patients about their procedures.

In addition to their technical expertise, the Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist will also participate in quality and patient safety initiatives. This may involve identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient satisfaction and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures, including operating imaging equipment and maintaining sterile conditions.
  • Assists physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures, acts as scrub assistant, and educates patients about their procedures.
  • Educates patients and families regarding the procedure and about the expectations of the procedure.
  • Maintains order and cleanliness of the unit, ensures appropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures, and completes daily, progress, and discharge documentation according to departmental standards.
  • Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifies potential areas for improvement, and takes appropriate actions to enhance patient satisfaction and experience.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Registered ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist RCIS within 18 months of hire, or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV Specific certification required.
  • RCIS or RCES required.
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) required.
  • ACLS and Surgical Technologist License with DORA obtained within 3 months of hire in state of Colorado required.
