Join the Ventura County Community College District as a part-time Instructor in Music, with an initial focus on Pro Tools. This role is an excellent opportunity to share your expertise and passion for music education with students at Moorpark College.

About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced music instructor to teach part-time in our Music department. The successful candidate will have a strong background in music education and a proven track record of teaching and mentoring students. The initial focus of this teaching assignment will be in the area of Pro Tools, which falls under the instructional discipline of Music.

Responsibilities
  • Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses
  • Assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher-order thinking skills among students
  • Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, other institutions of higher education, lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills
  • Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and student learning outcomes
  • Maintain current, accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, student academic progress, course curriculum, and student learning outcomes
Requirements

Candidates must possess the minimum qualifications for the discipline as approved by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors and defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges handbook. A Master's in music or a Bachelor's in music and a Master's in humanities, or the equivalent, is required. All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university.
