KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an Electrical & Automation Engineer, you will:
- Oversee the electrical, controls, and automation engineering aspects of Capital Projects, collaborating with a diverse team of engineers.
- Manage the delivery of engineering and design outputs, which include power distribution diagrams, network architecture layouts, control panel designs with associated materials, safety logic tables for validation, and relevant construction specifications.
- Formulate scopes of work for Capital Projects, assist in developing engineering schedules from initial design through to commissioning, and create requests for proposals for engineering services related to electrical, controls, automation, and integration.
- Provide guidance and technical support for engineering deliverables produced by Factory engineering teams, local project groups, and external engineering consultants.
- Assist in addressing requests for information from consultants and contractors throughout the engineering and construction phases.
- Support the construction team during project closeout and commissioning activities.
- Deliver technical training and mentorship to Factory engineering personnel, local PMO engineers, and external consultants.
- Review and approve project drawings and participate in Factory Acceptance Testing.
- Ensure compliance of proposals and drawings with technical specifications and design intents.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company's operational standards and engineering guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems design within a manufacturing context, or
- An Associate's Degree in Engineering or a related field combined with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
Additional requirements include:
- Knowledge of Electrical Safety and Hazardous Energy Control Procedures.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and electrical installation practices.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Ability to navigate construction sites and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Rockwell Automation, Modicon) and HMI/SCADA systems (iFIX and Ignition).
- Experience with industrial networking and Microsoft Office applications.
- Capability to interpret control schematics and wiring diagrams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ideal candidates may also have:
- Experience with machine risk assessments.
- Knowledge of power distribution systems.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat.
- Competency in Siemens PLC design and programming.
