We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Urology team at Carilion Clinic. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients in a physician practice or clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, chief complaint, and current medications.
- Prepare patients for provider evaluations, including obtaining specimens, positioning for exams, and assisting during exams and diagnostic procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including exam, treatment, and x-ray rooms, and lab areas.
- Document patient information in the electronic medical record.
- Provide patient education and teaching as indicated and directed by the provider.
- Assist with referral authorizations and pre-authorizations for testing and ancillary services.
- Assist with lab procedures.
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing or new graduate of an approved program eligible to sit for the Virginia licensure exam.
- One year of experience in a physician office preferred.
- Current licensure as a Practical Nurse in the State of Virginia (LPN) required.
- Licensure as a Radiologic Technician Limited if performing radiology.
- Current AHA BLS-HCP certification required.
