Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric ICU

Position Overview

As a vital member of a healthcare team, the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive primary care in an outpatient environment, focusing on pediatric patients. This role encompasses patient education, counseling, and thorough physical assessments. Additionally, the Nurse Practitioner may engage in educational initiatives for students and residents.

The work environment is typical of a clinic, necessitating frequent interaction with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. Some roles may involve travel to outreach clinics and conducting home visits, as well as participating in educational programs and special initiatives outside of standard working hours.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in nursing
  • Certification as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (or eligibility) by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners
  • Current CPR/BLS certification for Healthcare Providers and PALS certification
  • Prior experience as a CPNP-AC in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is preferred, though new graduates are welcome to apply
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
Required Qualifications

Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program and possess a current RN license in Texas or the ability to transfer your license to Texas.

Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the relevant nursing specialty from an accredited certification program recognized by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners is essential. Additionally, recognition as an Advanced Practitioner by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners is required.
