Position Summary
As a Sales Associate, you will represent our branch, delivering outstanding customer service, product expertise, and support to HVAC/R professionals and contractors visiting our location. Your passion for the industry, excellent communication skills, and commitment to providing exceptional customer service will be crucial to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement: Welcome customers warmly and assist them in selecting the appropriate HVAC/R products and supplies. Offer expert advice, product details, and recommendations.
- Order Management: Accurately process customer orders, ensuring all requested items are available, correctly priced, and invoiced. Handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions with care.
- Product Expertise: Maintain a thorough understanding of our HVAC/R product inventory, including specifications, compatibility, and pricing. Stay informed about industry trends and new product launches.
- Inventory Oversight: Monitor and restock sales floor inventory. Conduct regular inventory counts and report any discrepancies to management.
- Technical Assistance: Help customers troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to HVAC/R equipment and components.
- Safety Standards: Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Ensure a safe environment for both customers and colleagues.
- Documentation: Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation for customer transactions, including invoices, returns, and warranty claims.
- Prior experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in HVAC/R or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC/R products, equipment, and components.
- Exceptional customer service skills, including active listening and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computerized sales and inventory management systems.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a collaborative mindset.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of merchandise.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable bending, stooping, and reaching to access products and supplies.
