About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Wellpath. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality medical services to inmates, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures, state guidelines, and practice standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site clinics and rounds, documenting all services provided in SOAP format and adhering to the established formulary.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide emergency treatment on-site.
  • Support standards of medical care through adherence to existing policies and procedures, and assume responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions.
  • Report any doubts or questions regarding necessary interventions to the Medical Director or Health Services Administrator for disposition.
  • Provide input into facility mandatory committees as requested by Site Medical Director, Health Services Administrator or designee.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • A graduate of an accredited school of nursing and an advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience is preferred.
  • Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment.
  • Scheduling flexibility is also required to be able to rotate hours and shifts, if needed, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage.
  • Must have and maintain current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner within the state of employment and current CPR certification.
