Lead Scheduler - SCA Health

At SCA Health, we are committed to delivering high-quality patient care and exceptional service. As a Lead Scheduler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our ambulatory surgery centers.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the scheduling of outpatient surgeries and procedures, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information, and obtain necessary authorization from payers.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to ensure availability of necessary equipment, staff, and ancillary services.
  • Prepare and distribute the daily surgery schedule to relevant teams, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Capture accurate and complete clinical, demographic, and insurance information for patients scheduled at the surgery center.
  • Communicate effectively with medical staff members and their office personnel to ensure smooth scheduling and coordination.
  • Monitor and maintain block time, and track cancellations to optimize scheduling efficiency.
  • Perform other clerical duties as directed by the Business Office Manager, including cross-training in medical records, chart preparation, collections, and patient account advocacy.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year of scheduling experience in an ambulatory surgery facility, acute-care hospital, or doctor's office.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality record.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
