Role Overview

As a vital member of a multidisciplinary care team, the Outpatient Nutrition Specialist (RDN) is responsible for delivering nutrition education and care to patients. This role involves:

  • Providing individual and group education sessions, including assessment, documentation, and the development and implementation of an outpatient nutrition education program aimed at enhancing patient health outcomes.
  • As a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), offering diabetes self-management education and training to individuals and groups in an outpatient context, adhering to established standards and practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while delivering nutrition services aligned with recognized standards of practice.

This position collaborates with management and relevant staff to uphold a positive image of our institution as a leader in the field of Nutrition.
