Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grocery Manager to join our team at WEIS LLC. As a key member of our retail grocery operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily functions of our grocery department, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Department Operations: Assist the Grocery Manager in overseeing all aspects of grocery department operations, including managing inventory levels, reviewing orders, and maintaining backroom organization.
  • Customer Service: Promote excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer-focused behavior with associates, smiling and greeting customers, answering customer questions, and helping resolve customer concerns promptly.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, review orders, and maintain backroom organization to ensure product quantities meet customer demand.
  • Training and Development: Assist in training associates, provide coaching and feedback, evaluate work, recognize and reward performance, and delegate work assignments to effectively utilize talents and abilities.
  • Merchandising and Displays: Develop and implement merchandising plans, communicate with other departments and store management to create attractive displays, and utilize cross-merchandising techniques to meet sales and profit objectives.
  • Expense Control: Control expenses, including payroll, within budgeted expectations, and minimize damages and shrink through proper product handling and rotation.
  • Team Collaboration: Ensure smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors, and responsible for continuously improving job performance.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; associate or bachelor's degree in business-related field desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in management of retail/supermarket environment.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, strong leadership and communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in inventory management and merchandising.
