Job Summary

The University of California seeks a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team in the perioperative department. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for preparing for surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile field, and assisting in the sterile processing area.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare for surgical procedures by collecting and checking supplies and instrument trays.
Maintain a sterile field by following departmental standards for counts, medication, specimens, and safety precautions.
Assist in the sterile processing area as required.

Requirements

Graduate of a recognized Surgical Technologist program or Certified Surgical Technologist with more than two years of experience.
Minimum 2 years of hospital or ambulatory perioperative experience.
BLS certificate required.
Ability to move heavy objects, apply aseptic technique, and stand for long periods.
Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
