Job Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist to provide personalized therapy services to patients in their homes. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing patients' functional abilities and limitations to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implementing therapeutic activities and exercises as directed by the occupational therapist to improve patients' motor skills, strength, coordination, and range of motion.
  • Providing hands-on assistance and guidance to patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities aimed at enhancing their independence in activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, bathing, and eating.
  • Instructing patients and their caregivers on proper techniques for completing therapeutic exercises and using adaptive equipment to promote safety and maximize independence.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program with either an Associate's degree in science or applied science that is approved by American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc.
  • Current certification or license as required by state
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification
  • A valid driver's license with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working condition.
