Job Overview

Position: Cloud Cyber Defense Analyst

Performance Duration: 12-month initial period with potential extensions.

Role Summary:

  1. The primary focus is on identifying security vulnerabilities, conducting thorough analyses, developing effective mitigations, and creating cybersecurity solutions to safeguard the U.S. Army's cloud information systems and network assets.
  2. Utilizes technical skills to deliver computer network defense capabilities, ensuring continuous monitoring, detailed technical analysis, situational awareness, and incident response for highly classified systems and data.
  3. Employs knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) and Joint Service regulations to guarantee compliance of computer systems and telecommunications with cybersecurity standards.
  4. Monitors cloud infrastructures for any signs of security incidents.
  5. Conducts comprehensive risk assessments and vulnerability evaluations.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of five years of experience in Computer Network Defense (CND) or a master's degree in a relevant field coupled with at least three years of CND experience.
  2. Possession of Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) and GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) credentials.
  3. Certification in one or more of the following: Certified Intrusion Analyst, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  4. DoD Information Assurance Technical Level 3 (IAT Level 3) certification is required.
  5. Foundational Cloud Certification is necessary.
  6. Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and its associated regulations is essential.
  7. Proficient understanding of the implementation and analysis of industry-standard cyber defense tools, including web content filters, email security solutions, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and advanced log analysis techniques.
  8. Must hold an active TOP SECRET/SCI clearance.
