We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer III to join our team at HNTB. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality geotechnical designs and field inspections for various projects across the United States.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development of project specifications and technical reports.
- Responsible for the development of discipline-specific engineering project elements, including designs, plans, and reports.
- Aid in the coordination and productivity of project team members.
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.
- Work closely with other disciplines and on multi-discipline projects.
- Perform quality control reviews of discipline-specific engineering project elements.
- Assist with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within the discipline.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience, or PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with geotechnical software, including the Ensoft suite of programs, GeoStudio, shoring design, and other geotechnical tools.
- General understanding of highway structures.
- Optimizing work processes by using knowledge of the most effective and efficient ways to get things done with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Independently progressing the majority of geotechnical designs and tasks.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation and/or AutoCad.
- Managing time, proactively forecasting, and communicating project development needs.
- Master's degree in Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification (depending on discipline).
