Overview

As a Summer Intern, you will participate in a 10-week program designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in your future career.

You will have the opportunity to work on projects and department initiatives that accelerate career growth and contribute to the Bank's future success. Through guest speakers and industry leaders, you will gain exposure to other departments and build a network of peers and professionals.

As an Intern, you will be considered for full-time opportunities throughout the Bank and have the chance to develop a strong understanding of the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Complete duties and responsibilities of an entry-level professional nature specific to assigned area of the Bank.
  • Ensure activities adhere to established internal policies and external regulations as applicable.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite.
  • Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Compensation and Benefits

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $28.00 per hour. The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
