Azure Engineer

As a Senior Azure Cloud Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in the deployment and management of critical business systems and applications within the Microsoft Azure cloud ecosystem.

Your collaboration with diverse teams, including vendors, infrastructure specialists, and application stakeholders, will be essential in crafting and executing IT strategies that resonate with the company's overarching business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

Technical Implementation:

Actively participate in the execution of Azure system deployments and enhancements, partnering closely with infrastructure teams to provision and configure Azure resources effectively.



Azure Environment Support:

Deliver continuous support and maintenance for the entire Azure ecosystem, addressing issues, optimizing performance, and implementing robust security protocols. Work alongside the IT operations team to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of Azure services.



Infrastructure Optimization:

Evaluate existing infrastructure and applications, pinpoint opportunities for enhancement and modernization, and propose suitable Azure services and configurations to maximize performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.



Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

Assess the performance of Azure resources and applications, identify and rectify any issues or bottlenecks, and proactively enhance the environment to maintain optimal performance and availability.



Stakeholder Collaboration:

Engage with business users, application owners, and technical teams to gather requirements, address concerns, and provide insights on Azure capabilities and best practices. Serve as a subject matter expert on Azure support and contribute to architectural decisions and discussions.



Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including architectural diagrams and operational procedures. Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and provide training to promote the adoption of Azure services and processes.

Continuous Learning:

Remain informed about the latest Azure features, services, and industry trends, and offer recommendations on leveraging new technologies to foster innovation and efficiency.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience with Azure cloud platform design, administration, and support
  • Solid understanding of Azure architecture and services, such as Virtual Machines, Group Policy, MFA, Management Groups, Subscriptions, Resource Groups, Azure Regions, Azure Functions, Azure Active Directory, Azure Networking, Azure Savings Plans and pricing models.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Azure Automation
  • Experience with ITSM tools, especially Service Now
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • After hours and weekend on-call support required as needed
  • 8+ years of demonstrated IT experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise-level, mission-critical applications resolving complex issues/situations and driving technical resolution across cross-functional organizations
  • Experience in one or more automation languages (PowerShell, Python, C#, Open Source)
Any Azure certifications are nice to have.
