Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team as a long-term substitute. The successful candidate will provide observations, screenings, evaluations, and MTSS intervention or IEP services to enhance a student's level of communicative functioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and provide appropriate services for children with communication disorders in various areas, including phonological/articulation disorders, language disorders, stuttering/dysfluency, feeding/swallowing, and speech-language disorders resulting from hearing impairment or organic anomalies.
  • Participate in developing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including measurable goals and objectives for each student's needs as applicable to the educational setting.
  • Interpret test findings and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Establish and maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
  • Participate in all pre-referral and referral procedures as required by the District.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and complete progress reports.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with other professionals, students, parents, and community agencies.
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and other IEP committee members to ensure that students' needs are being met.
  • Model professional and ethical conduct at all times.
  • Participate in District department meetings of speech-language pathologists for the purpose of coordinating and improving the program and services to students.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited educational institution.
  • Illinois Professional Educators licensure with Speech and Language Pathologist endorsement(s).
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA (preferred).
  • Experience in public schools (preferred).
