Provider Contract Food Service is a locally grown company that has been providing culinary and hospitality excellence to its clients for 18 years. We are seeking a Cashier to join our team at Fresno Pacific University in Fresno, CA. This is an entry-level position that requires no prior experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving payments from customers and employees in exchange for food and services. They will also be responsible for scanning items, providing change, balancing the cash drawer, and processing card transactions. The Cashier will work closely with the Food Service team to ensure seamless service delivery. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The hourly rate is $15.50-$17.00. We are an E Verify Employer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compute or recompute bills, itemized lists, and ticket vouchers showing the amount due.
  • Make change and issue receipts or tickets to customers.
  • Record amounts received and prepare reports of transactions.
  • Read and record totals shown on cash register tape and verify against cash on hand.
  • Quote prices and describe features of items for which money is received.
  • Respond to customer complaints and take necessary action to resolve their issues.
  • Operate the cash register by passing price-coded items across an electronic scanner to record prices, compile printed lists, and display the cost of customer purchases, tax, and rebates on the monitor screen.
