Job Summary

As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the management of various facilities, including event set-up and tear-down, scheduling employees, maintaining grounds, and ensuring a first-class experience for all guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise event coordinators and shift leads through mentorship, delegation, and development of daily tasks.
  • Manage part-time facility operations employees, including hiring, training, evaluating, scheduling, and terminating.
  • Establish a positive working relationship with external partners, including the City of Hoover Park Maintenance, Public Works, and Parks & Recreation departments.
  • Work in conjunction with event management staff to ensure event details are met and delivered.
  • Develop and implement routine schedules for maintenance of all facilities, including cleaning, turf grooming, floor care, inspections, equipment monitoring, upkeep, and painting.
  • Coordinate schedules for during-event and post-event cleaning services.
  • Inspect grounds daily to ensure a debris-free environment and evaluate cleaning staff responsibilities.
  • Monitor walkways, entryways, flowerbeds, and other areas to ensure they are clear of weeds, trash, and other obstacles.
  • Submit work orders as necessary through external liaisons and maintain constant communication on the status of pending work orders.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned.
  • Responsible for daily open and close of facility.
  • Work within established budget parameters.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in facility management, recreation, sports management, or related field, and a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience with managing various facilities, set-up and tear-down, scheduling employees, maintaining grounds, and ensuring a first-class experience for all guests.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours.
  • Current CPR/FIRST AID certifications or willingness to obtain within a specified period.
  • Current Certified Pool and Spa Operator certification or willingness to obtain within a specified period.
  • Current Forklift Operator certification or willingness to obtain within a specified period.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds waist high.
  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods, squat, stoop, or bend.
  • Will be required to operate a computer.
  • Facility has intermittent noise.
