Job Title:
Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Shared locations:
Memorial Hospital of Gardena and Coast Plaza in Norwalk.

Job Summary:
The Wound Care Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring wound care plans for patients with chronic wounds.

They work closely with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure that patients receive the best possible care and that their wounds heal as quickly as possible.

Actively and consistently contributes to department operations and communications, behaves in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pipeline Health, upholding standards of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you) patient communication.


Experience :
Minimum of 3 years of experience in nursing with at least 2 years of experience in wound care.

Experience in a variety of wound care settings, such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home health agencies a plus.

Experience in teaching and mentoring wound care nurses is a plus.

Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, strong organizational skills, ability to follow verbal instructions, and PC (computer) skills.

A capacity to learn, synthesize, make critical judgments, work independently, place patients and families first, and collaborate with the team members who are recognized leaders within health care.


Education:
Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.

Licensure/Certifications:
Current professional RN license issued and/or recognized by the state Board of Nursing for the State of employment.
Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) certification a plus.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
