Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Summit Care. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality speech, language, and swallowing therapy services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and treat patients with a variety of disorders, including motor speech disorders, language disorders, voice disorders, cognitive deficits, and dysphagia.
- Develop and implement treatment plans that focus on functional and measurable outcomes and adhere to professional standards of practice.
- Oversee and participate in the maintenance of therapy records.
- Ensure availability of supplies and equipment.
- Maintain appropriate patient schedules, as per established guidelines.
- Provide documentation to maintain quality of the medical records, as it relates to reimbursement guidelines, accuracy of billing information, and facility requirements.
- Participate in patient, family, and facility meetings, as appropriate.
- Follow administrative policies and procedures, including those related to emergency procedures, infectious disease control, and safety.
- Coordinate and/or participate in training programs for facility staff, residents, families, and rehabilitation staff.
- Initiate new program development with focus on functional outcomes to improve the quality of life of facility residents.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Program.
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology License to practice in appropriate state(s).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective leadership and customer relations skills.
- Ability to exercise mature judgment with initiative in analyzing and solving problems.

- Employee must consistently lift and reposition patients.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee shares work space with other employees; therefore, the environment can become crowded and noisy.
General Sign-off:
The employee is expected to adhere to all company policies and procedures while employed.
